Dear runners, respected friends and partners of the Belgrade Marathon,
At today's meeting of representatives of the City of Belgrade and the organizers of the Belgrade Marathon, it was agreed that the largest international traditional sporting event in our country - the 33rd Belgrade Marathon, scheduled to take place on April 26 - due to the World Health Organization pandemic of the Corona virus and extraordinary measures of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, implemented by the City of Belgrade, in order to protect the population from the Corona virus - is rescheduled for Sunday, October 18th, 2020, a date also agreed with AIMS (Association of International Marathons and Distance Races).
The health of runners, volunteers, spectators and participants in the organization is always our first priority. Therefore, we will responsibly and seriously follow all the instructions of the competent, professional institutions in order to coordinate with them timely and in a proper manner all forthcoming activities.
We, as the organizers, together with the City of Belgrade and the Republic of Serbia, continue with regular activities and preparations for the 33rd Belgrade Marathon, in order to once again justify the confidence of the record number of participants, partners and institutions involved in the organization so far as well to promote the City of Belgrade and the Republic of Serbia the best possible way.
As of today, more than 6000 participants have registered, including over 1200 participants from 57 countries. All of them, as well as at least 3000 new entrants and guests we expect at this year's event, believe that the 33rd Belgrade Marathon 2020 will be a festival of health, running, fun and general enjoyment - just like it was in the 32 previous editions.
Thank you for your understanding.
