RUNNERS INFO

  1. Runners arrive to the pre-start zone – the corner of Knez Miloš Street and Kralj Aleksandar Boulevard (the parking lot) – at the indicated entrance, starting 08:30 and not later than 09:45.
  2. At the pre-start zone entrance each competitor receives a kitbag for his or her clothes. Runners change in the tents, put their clothes in kitbags and place them in a specified kitbag vehicle. The kitbag vehicle will be stationed at the finish zone exit. In the pre-start zone runners can use toilet facilities, water and medical aid.
  3. Every participant must wear the race number under which he or she is registered – otherwise he or she will be disqualified. If a runner loses his or her race number, he or she is to report it immediately and take another race number.
  4. Every participant in the marathon race must have an identification chip which must be affixed to his or her racing shoe in accordance with the instruction received at the Registration Centre together with the chip and the race number. Should a participant, for whatever reason, lose the chip either at the start, during the race or at the finish, he or she will have no official finishing time (no chip, no result!).
  5. Prior to entering the start zone, and not later than 09:50, the runners must have their race numbers and chips checked. Runners who fail to arrive in time or to have their numbers verified, or do not have the chip, will have no official finishing time (will be disqualified).
  6. Runners warm-up in the start zone. When taking start position, elite runners stand immediately behind the start line, while the others stand behind the „wall“.
  7. Runners must follow the official announcer and referees’ instructions at the start. Runners whose conduct disturbs the time schedule and general order will be removed and disqualified.
  8. At 10:00 a siren will mark the start of the race.
  9. Every participant in the marathon race must pass the 10 km check point, which is the same as the 27 km check point. At this point current placement is established based on the readings of the ChampionChip computer timing system. If a participant is not registered at this check point for whatever reason he or she loses the official finishing time.
  10. All marathon participants must enter the second lap in New Belgrade (the junction of Mihajla Pupina and Nikole Tesle Boulevards) by 12:15. Otherwise they will be disqualified.
  11. Time limit for the marathon race is 5 hours.
  12. The first table of every refreshment point will contain only the elite runners’ drinks.
  13. Runners who are unable to finish the race may approach the nearest medical unit or refreshment point staff at the course and wait for the transport to the kitbag vehicle at the finish, or to the medical institution.
  14. At the entrance of the finish zone (about 500 m before the finish line) the separation of half marathon and marathon runners begins. Marathon runners run on the left hand side of the street and enter the gate on the left, and half marathon runners on the right hand side of the street and enter the gate on the right.
  15. Every participant in the marathon race will have his or her finishing time and placement automatically registered by the ChampionChip computer timing system.
  16. Entering the barrier zone, as directed by the referees, the runners must continue moving so as not to create a standstill. Also, each contestant must remove the specified section of his or her race number and give it to a referee in the barrier zone.
  17. Marathon runners are given medals and wrappers, and half-marathon runners the wrappers. Exiting the barrier zone, all competitors may avail themselves of the refreshments, medical aid and toilet facilities.
  18. After exiting the enclosed finish zone, runners will find the kitbag vehicles in Kolarčeva Street, where they will receive the kitbag with their personal items.
  19. If a runner wishes to lodge a protest concerning the regularity of the race, he or she will approach the chief judge at the finish line, make a payment of 1000,00 csd (for foreign runners $50) and fill out a specified form. Money is not refundable in cases in which the Jury of Appeals rules that the protest is unfounded. Otherwise the money is refundable.
  20. Award ceremony for the open division in half marathon and marathon (men’s and women’s competitions) will be held on the platform at the finish at 13:15.
  21. The participants will receive the official bulletin containing results and participant’s diploma via mail.
  22. Every participant to finish the race will receive at the finish line the official 19th Belgrade BANCA INTESA Marathon medal.
