20th January 2011
In memoriam
Kenth Andersson
Dear friends,
we sorrowfully regret to inform you that Kenth Andersson, a sports
manager and a proven friend of the Belgrade Marathon, Belgrade and
Serbia passed away suddenly in Belgrade today.

A Swede-born and an undestined Belgrader, Kenth passed away surrounded by
his friends, with whom he made an inseparable factor of the Belgrade
Marathon’s biggest successes over 20 years, the friends whom he
willingly shared unfortunate and tragic destiny with during the
bombardment of our country.

Kenth Andersson, a great man of Slavic soul, our business and life
partner, will always be in the foundations of everything that makes what
the Belgrade Marathon is today and what it will be in the future.
Respectfully and sorrowfully yours,
Belgrade Marathon

KENTH ANDERSSON MEMORIAL SERVICE
There will be a Memorial Service for Kenth Andersson in the Great Hall
of the City Hall in Belgrade, Serbia at 12.00 on Thursday, January 27.
Kenth, a three-time Swedish middle distance champion, died suddenly in
Belgrade in the early hours of last Thursday morning, at the age of 66.
His daughter Lynn and son Daniel have given their blessing for the
service while they wait for Kenth's body to be repatriated, for burial
in Treleborg, western Sweden, where his parents are buried. Lynn said,
"Please go ahead, we all know how much he loved Belgrade. It is much
appreciated".
Thursday's service will be organised by the Belgrade Marathon in
conjunction with the Athletics Federation of Serbia. The speakers will
be Dejan Nikolić, Bata Vukelić, with whom Kenth was dining, along with
Bata's wife Snežana, when he died, and Branko Branković. All three were
original organisers of the Belgrade Marathon, on which Kenth worked for
15 years, becoming a regular visitor to the Serbian capital.
